Rifle range facilities

MISC operates both 100m and 200 yard, zero template rifle ranges.

The 100m rifle range features relocatable steel bullet catchers at 25, 50 and 75m suspended on overhead gantries that allow each unit to be positioned within the cone of fire.  When not is use the bullet catchers are rolled into storage bays either side of the rifle range.  With the bullet catchers stowed 100m shooting may be conducted.

Each of the four shooting bays is furnished with bench rests, 'sand bags', a spotting scope and Garmin chrongraph.  Fully floodlit the 100m range is available to MISC members 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.

Our 200 yard range is available during daylight hours only to MISC members who have specifically qualified to engage in safe shooting within its confines.  Featuring two 'snail trap' bullet catchers all projectiles are directed into a vertical cylinder where they spin fully enclosed until each bullet expends its energy and falls completely spent into a waste receptical.

Both rifle ranges are limited to catridges producing no greater than 6000 ft/lb of muzzle energy and calibres of no greater than 0.77 inch.
