The MISC rifle and shotgun facilities are open to the general public from 7pm every Tuesday.

Rifle range: Fee $25.00 per visit.
Four shooting bays available. All legal rifles may be shot (limited to maximum 6000ft/lb muzzle energy and/or 0.77 calibre). MISC range officers reserve the right to inspect ALL firearms and ammunition presented for shooting to ensure safe operation. Unlicenced shooters may shoot under direct supervision of a MISC range officer or any other licenced individual.
Shotgun range: Fee $5.00 per 10 clay targets, ammunition extra.
Clay target shooting is available, weather permitting, every Tuesday evening. Visitors are welcome to bring their own serviceable shotgun(s) with allowable barrel length of no less than 26 inches. Clay target ammunition must carry a shot charge of no greater than 28 grams (1 oz) with a maximum permissible shot size of 2.5mm.

What do I do upon arrival?
Report to the clubrooms and inform the duty person which discipline you wish to shoot; clay target or rifle. Payment will be made at this time for the rifle range, a receipt issued and you will be directed to the range officers for rifle shooting. Very clay target shooting if you are new shooter you will be assigned to the duty person for coaching, all others should report to the clay target coordinator for 'squading'.
Do I need a firearms licence to shoot?
Unlicenced individuals may shoot under the immediate supervision of a MISC nominated range officer as allowed by the Arms Act. Ammunition purchased by unlicenced individuals is held by a club official until time of supervised shooting.
I need assistance to sight my new rifle - can some help me?
Aboslutely! Our experienced and trained range officers are more than happy to assist.
How long do I get on the rifle range to shoot?
It depends on the evening and how busy the rifle range is. Our range officers will work with you so as to achieve the outcome you need.
Do you have firearms I may use on site?
MISC has club shotguns available to suit most shooters in 12 gauge, 28 gauge and .410 bore with compatible ammunition available for purchase. MISC also has .22 rimfire rifles and ammunition available for use on advanced booking with the rifle range convenors.
Can I bring my dog?
Well behaved and controlled dogs may be brought to MISC. Owners should be sure their dog is comfortable with firearms noise.
Can children shoot at MISC?
Within reason. Under strict firearms licenced adult supervision children may shoot at MISC. MISC range officers reserve the right to refuse permission if they do not believe the child is capable of comfortably and safely conducting the activity.
What esle should I bring?
Hearing protection. Warm clothing in the cooler months. A means of payment either cash but preferably EFTPOS (no Paywave sorry).
