Clay target facilites
MISC Clay target shooting facilities.
MISC has the only clay target shooting facility in the Canterbury area with a purpose built back stop to capture 100% fall of shot. The semi circular, earthen bund, 10 metres tall provides a catchment for all shot fired at clay targets. Trained and experienced range officers who actively monitor all shooters are available to coach and tutor newcomers one on one utilising our purpose built, elevated training tower independent of the primary clay target range.
Standard courses of fire:
Down the line (DTL). A single target launched immediately in front of the shooter with an oscillation for horizontally displacement of the target. Standard DTL rounds are 10 targets cycling shooters twice through each of the five shooting stations where a maximum of two shots may be fired at each target.
Riverside Skeet. Close in targets in more of a crossing style with clays launched from traps (Left and Right) bracketing five shooting stations. Shooters call for the first target from the left tower with the second target being released from the right tower at the report of the first shot. This round is 10 targets shot as pairs; one pair (two targets) shot at each station.
Sporting Clays formats. Altering courses featuring a selection of mobile, remotely operated, magazine fed clay target throwers. Quartering, incoming and outgoing targets are presented in addition to looping clays and a 'bolting rabbit' target.
